Formax Introduces the FD 3302 Air Suction Folder
DOVER, NH, NOVEMBER 2021: Formax introduces the new FD 3302 Tabletop Air-Suction Folder which replaces the discontinued FD 3300, and features a new extended infeed tray. Fully automated, compact and quiet, it’s ideal for processing on-demand digitally printed documents.
The new extended infeed tray is designed to accommodate a variety of paper weights and sizes, up to 25.5” long. Standard features include automatic fold settings, automatic paper size detection, a 4.3” color touchscreen LCD control panel, and both Optical and Ultrasonic Double Feed Detection, which provide enhanced document security. The FD 3302 is programmed with 6 common folds – C, V, Z, fold out, double parallel, and gate – and can store up to 30 custom folds in memory. With variable speed to handle a range of paper thicknesses, it processes up to 18,600 sheets per hour, producing crisp, accurate folds.
The FD 3302 works with air-suction feed technology to handle heavy or coated stock, and helps to eliminate feed marks which may occur with friction feed systems. Instead of a traditional external compressor or air pump, the FD 3302 uses internal DC fans to produce suction, which minimizes static electricity and improves feed performance. Fan speed and air flow can be adjusted independently, utilizing the interactive control panel and external adjustment knobs. In addition, the FD 3302 includes a side fan system to further enhance the feeding quality.
The FD 3302 comes standard with a cross-folding guide, a four-digit counter with batch counting capability, four fold rollers for accuracy, and a variety of document security features.
